Tour Plan

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m) and Fly to Tumlingtar (518m) - Drive to Chichila (1,840m)

Start your journey by arriving in Kathmandu, where you'll catch a scenic flight to Tumlingtar. From Tumlingtar, embark on a picturesque drive through lush hills and valleys to reach the charming village of Chichila, your starting point for the trek. This initial leg offers a glimpse of the verdant landscapes and terraced fields that characterize the region.

Day 02 Trek from Chichila to Num (1,560m)

Begin your trek by walking through dense forests of rhododendron and oak, descending into the picturesque Arun Valley. Enjoy the panoramic views of terraced fields and distant mountains as you make your way to Num, a small village perched on a ridge overlooking the valley.

Day 03 Trek from Num to Seduwa (1,500m)

Descend steeply to the Arun River, crossing a suspension bridge before ascending through dense forests and cultivated fields to reach Seduwa. This village serves as the entrance to the Makalu Barun National Park, where you'll register and continue your journey through pristine wilderness.

Day 04 Trek from Seduwa to Tashigaon (2,100m)

Today's trek takes you through lush forests, past terraced fields, and charming Rai villages, providing a glimpse into the local culture and lifestyle. Arrive at Tashigaon, the last permanent settlement on the trail, surrounded by stunning mountain vistas.

Day 05 Trek from Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3,500m)

This day involves a challenging ascent through rhododendron and bamboo forests to reach Khongma Danda. As you climb higher, enjoy the spectacular views of Makalu and the surrounding peaks. Khongma Danda is a beautiful ridge offering breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas.

Day 06 Trek from Khongma Danda to Dobate (3,650m) via Shipton La Pass (4,170m)

Cross the Shipton La Pass, a highlight of the trek, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, and Chamlang. Descend through pristine forests to reach Dobate, where you can rest and absorb the serene beauty of the landscape.

Day 07 Trek from Dobate to Yangri Kharka (3,550m)

Continue your journey through lush forests and alpine meadows, following the Barun River as it meanders through the valley. Arrive at Yangri Kharka, a picturesque campsite surrounded by towering peaks and cascading waterfalls.

Day 08 Trek from Yangri Kharka to Makalu Base Camp (4,870m) and Return to Yangri Kharka

Retrace your steps to Dobate, enjoying the downhill trek through forests and villages. From there, drive back to Tumlingtar and catch a flight back to Kathmandu, where you can relax and celebrate the completion of your remarkable journey through the Makalu region.
